Remote work has been trending for the last couple of years.
After the Covid-19 pandemic forced companies to get creative with how they staffed their businesses, many of them learned that remote work has a place in the business sphere going forward; not just as a solution to a temporary problem.
However, you might think that remote work forces you to have exceptional qualifications and prior experience if you want to earn anything worthwhile.
That is not the case. In fact, there is a multitude of jobs that you can start doing remotely without any experience whatsoever.
It might require you to build your skillset as you go, start off with lower pay than expected, or work harder than you otherwise would, but it is possible to land a high-paying career working remotely; even if you lack experience.
Content Writers
Writing is a key part of any business’s marketing efforts. Therefore, it is in demand across all industries, and if you can position yourself properly, you can start writing professionally (and remotely) without having any formal training.
However, we talked about this one first, because the potential pay range is quite large.
You can make great money writing. If you get hired by a company directly, it can even resemble a traditional job.
If you build a freelancing job for yourself, the sky is the limit, but you’ll have to spend time proving you have what it takes and making complex business decisions to maximize your earning potential.
This is partially the case with many jobs. If you can put good work in, the sky is the limit. If not, your results can be lackluster. You don’t have to have a degree to pull this one off, though.
Graphic Design
Companies will pay well for people with graphic design skills, and at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter if you have a slip of paper if you’re able to prove you can provide results.
The average graphic designer makes around $3000 per month when hired as a member of a company’s team. That’s a substantial salary in a lot of areas. However, the sky is the limit if you take another approach.
Just like writing, this can be done by either getting a position directly with a company, which is certainly more stable or by offering your services and taking a freelancing approach.
There are pros and cons to either, but both can make considerable incomes without requiring degrees or years of experience.
The main requirement will be the ability to market yourself and demonstrate your skills.
Digital Marketing Manager
Digital marketing managers don’t require degrees or previous experience. Much like everything else on this list, this position requires demonstratable skills and the ability to market yourself (which you should be able to do if you want to market companies).
This can pay tremendously when you’re accepted by the right company or get the right clients, but it might take time to land that high-paying role when you’re first starting.
Focus On Skills Instead Of Degrees
Whether you pursue one of these careers, or you do something else such as becoming a social media manager, the main factor tends to be whether or not you have the skills to pull off the job and the ability to market yourself to clients or potential employers.
To get started, you should expect a bit of an uphill climb, and you might need to take the initiative to broaden your skills and get your name out there. It’s well worth it once you get your foot in the door, though.
